Did You Know About the Merchant Hold Shelf?
Tucked away just outside the restroom area, the Merchant Hold Shelf is here to help manage items that need attention. Market Staff may place items on this shelf for a variety of reasons — including, but not limited to:
- Items found with no tags
- Broken or damaged items
- Other situations where staff need to temporarily remove an item from the sales floor
When items are placed on the shelf, we always include a date so you know when it was added. Items will be kept on the shelf for 60 days before being donated or discarded.
We always try to contact merchants before placing items on the shelf, but sometimes that’s not possible. That’s why we ask that you check the Merchant Hold Shelf every time you’re in the store.
Each item will include a note with the merchant’s name (if known) and the reason the item was placed there. Regularly checking this shelf ensures nothing is left behind, misplaced, or forgotten — and helps keep your space accurate and organized.
