Beginning in April, Belleville Market will introduce Monthly Merchant Reviews for all Anchor and Showcase merchants. These reviews will be sent at the beginning of each month by our Merchant Success Manager and will reflect performance for the previous month.
This new process is part of our continued effort to strengthen Belleville Market as a modern neighborhood department store built on thoughtful curation, elevated standards, and collaborative growth.
As our merchant community continues to grow and evolve, these monthly reviews will help ensure that every merchant has clear insight into how their space is performing and where opportunities exist to improve sales, merchandising, and operational execution.
Each Monthly Merchant Review will provide a structured overview of several key areas of retail performance, including:
The goal is not simply evaluation — it is to help every merchant understand how their space is functioning within the broader Belleville retail environment and where adjustments may unlock greater success.
As part of this process, each merchant will also receive a monthly productivity benchmark. This benchmark represents the average sales productivity we look for within the market and helps ensure that every space is performing at a healthy level.
For most merchants, this benchmark is typically 3–4x the monthly merchant fee, depending on where the space is located within the store.
These benchmarks help Belleville maintain a balanced retail ecosystem and ensure that the market can continue to support strong traffic, marketing efforts, operational staffing, and overall guest experience. They also provide merchants with a clear target for healthy retail productivity.
