Why PERKS Matters for You
Since launching in March, the PERKS program has proven to be a powerful driver of loyalty and revenue, not just for Belleville and the Market overall, but for individual merchants:
- Redeeming members (customers actively earning and using rewards) have spent 2.7x more than non-members.
- Redeeming members have spent 1.2x more per order than non-members.
- Redeeming members return 5.6x more often than non-members.
- Attributed loyalty revenue accounts for 4% of total revenue since launch.
In short: PERKS members shop more, spend more, and come back more often.
Rewards in Action
Since launching earlier this year, customers have redeemed 139 total rewards, with behavior trends showing:
- Most customers either redeem immediately at the 5% reward level or hold out until they qualify for a gift card.
- Of the 139 rewards claimed between March and September:
- 5% Off Reward – 101 redemptions
- $5 Gift Card Reward – 5 redemptions
- 10% Off Reward – 7 redemptions
- $10 Gift Card Reward – 14 redemptions
- 15% Off Reward – 10 redemptions
- $15 Gift Card Reward – 2 redemptions
When a customer redeems points for a gift card reward, Belleville Market absorbs the cost difference, and the sale is passed on to you at full value. This ensures merchants are not carrying the cost burden of gift card rewards.
Addressing Concerns About Discounts
We understand some merchants may be worried about offering discounts. The data shows the impact is minimal:
- Belleville’s own sales data from the past 90 days shows that discount rewards accounted for only 2% of total sales.
- The average discount redeemed is just 5%, which is small in the short term but pays off in the long term through increased order frequency and larger baskets.
- Discounts cannot be stacked. (IE: If you’re running a sale that we programmed for you, the the customer cannot receive your promo price and the reward discount)
Merchant/Employee Discounts
For merchants currently enrolled in the Merchant/Employee Discount Program, please note:
- Employees/merchants do not receive both discounts.
- The system does not allow stacking a Merchant/Employee discount with a PERKS discount under any circumstances.
Exclusions Policy
We recognize that some products may have manufacturer restrictions or strict promotional policies. For this reason, we will allow a limited number of items to be excluded from the PERKS program:
- If approved, Merchants requesting exclusions will be assigned a second ConsignCloud account to manage these items.
- A separate email address will be required to access this account.
- Signage will be required in your selling area to clearly identify any excluded products, ensuring customers are informed before checkout.
