Conflict of Interest – Operating Competing Marketplaces

Conflict of Interest – Operating Competing Marketplaces

To protect the integrity, success, and collaborative spirit of Belleville Market, we’ve established the following policy regarding conflicts of interest:

Merchants at Belleville Market may not open, operate, or actively participate in the management of any competing multi-merchant retail marketplace, pop-up collective, or shared vendor retail space within a 50-mile radius of Belleville Market.

This includes, but is not limited to:
  1. Launching or co-owning a new market, retail collective, or vendor-based shop that hosts multiple independent sellers.
  2. Organizing recurring multi-merchant events that could be considered in direct competition with Belleville Market.
  3. Serving as a managing partner or operator of a space that mirrors Belleville Market’s business model.
We value collaboration and innovation, and we understand that many of our merchants are passionate entrepreneurs with varied ventures. However, this policy exists to prevent conflicts of interest that may undermine our shared goals, dilute the customer base, or compromise the unique experience we’ve built together at Belleville Market.

If you have any questions about how this policy applies to your business activities, or if you’re involved in a project that may fall into a gray area, we encourage you to speak with Belleville Market management for clarification.

Thank you for your understanding and commitment to maintaining the integrity of our community.
