We wanted to take a moment to share some exciting news from May.

Compared to May of last year:

What makes these numbers especially encouraging is that they tell a bigger story than sales growth alone.

Not only are more people visiting Belleville Market, but those additional guests are making purchases. Traffic and transactions increased at the same rate, which means we're successfully converting visitors into customers and continuing to provide an experience that inspires people to shop.

Even more exciting, sales grew faster than transactions. That means the average sale increased by approximately 3–4%, suggesting guests are discovering more throughout the market, purchasing additional items, and engaging with more of our merchants and departments during each visit.

The strongest takeaway is that all three metrics are moving in the right direction at the same time:

When those things happen together, it's often a sign that a business is building momentum and becoming a stronger destination within the community. It tells us that guests are sharing Belleville with friends and family, returning more often, and continuing to discover something new each time they visit.

As we continue refining and reorganizing our category structure within ConsignCloud, we'll also be able to provide more meaningful reporting on how individual merchant-supported departments and categories are performing throughout the market. This will give us better visibility into month-over-month trends, help identify areas of growth, and allow us to make more informed merchandising, marketing, and business decisions moving forward.
