Anchor Merchant Operational Framework

Anchor Merchant Operational Framework

Overview

Anchor Merchants operate a dedicated, licensed space within Belleville Market. You manage your own full space—merchandising, branding, and inventory strategy—similar to operating a micro-store within the larger Belleville Market environment.

1. Space Management & Merchandising

  1. You are fully responsible for merchandising, styling, restocking, and maintaining your Anchor space.
  2. Spaces must remain clean, organized, and aligned with Belleville Market’s visual standards.
  3. Merchants selling clothing on hangers must store extra hangers within their space using a retail hanger stand or another clean, professional-looking storage solution. Loose stacks of hangers are not permitted.
  4. Changes to fixtures, major layout adjustments, or added structures must be approved by Merchant Support.

2. Inventory & Stock Levels

  1. You bring in all inventory yourself and are responsible for maintaining adequate stock.
  2. Inventory levels must be monitored through ConsignCloud, ensuring accuracy at all times.
  3. Low or missing inventory that affects guest experience may trigger Merchant Support intervention.

3. Branding & Display Enhancements

  1. Branding within your designated space is permitted and encouraged (signage, small brand elements).
  2. All brand materials must align with Belleville Market’s design guidelines.

4. Sales, Pricing, Events & Promotions

  1. You set pricing for your products.
  2. Storewide promotions or discount events require participation according to your merchant agreement.
  3. Any independent promotions must be coordinated with Merchant Support in advance.
  4. Shop-in-shop events encouraged and should be approved and coordinated with Merchant Support in advance.

5. Support & Oversight

  1. Merchant Support does not participate in day-to-day merchandising.
  2. Support may intervene if:
    1. visual standards are not met
    2. inventory is inaccurate or outdated
    3. safety or guest flow issues arise
    4. monthly sales fall below assigned sales goal as stated in merchant agreement

6. Term, License Fee & Commission Structure

  1. Anchor agreements are typically 12-month licensing terms with the option to renew.
  2. Anchor Merchants pay a monthly license fee for their assigned space.
  3. All sales processed through the Belleville Market POS are subject to the standard commission rate outlined in our guidelines.
  4. The license fee is fixed; commission is deducted automatically from payouts.
  5. This model provides stability, guaranteed placement, and dedicated visibility.
