Curated Merchant Operations Framework
Overview
Curated Merchants participate in shared, themed, or category-based displays curated by the Belleville team. These merchants provide product, while Operations and Merchant Support manage the visual presentation.
1. Space Management & Merchandising
- Belleville Market handles the merchandising, styling, and placement of Curated Merchant products.
- You will not have your own dedicated space; instead, your products appear within mixed-brand displays.
- Belleville may style items according to seasonal themes, color stories, or category plans.
2. Inventory & Stock Levels
- You are responsible for delivering inventory on time according to stated guidelines.
- Inventory must be accurately entered into ConsignCloud before or upon delivery.
- Belleville Market will reorder, rebalance, or pause items based on store performance and capacity.
3. Branding & Display Enhancements
- No individual merchant branding is included in Curated areas.
- Products are presented as part of a broader Belleville Market assortment.
- You set pricing for your products within agreed-upon category ranges.
- Participation in promotions may be required (storewide or category-based).
- Belleville manages markdown strategy for slow-moving items, with merchant approval where required.
5. Support & Oversight
Merchant Support manages:
display upkeep
- replenishment (from backstock)
- seasonal transitions
- performance reviews
- Merchants may be contacted if items sell through, are underperforming, or require replenishment approvals.
6. Term Length & Commission Structure
- Curated arrangements are typically flexible, rolling terms, allowing categories to evolve seasonally.
- There is no monthly license fee for Curated Merchants.
- Instead, all sales are processed through Belleville’s POS and subject to a curated-tier commission rate, defined in your merchant agreement.
- Commission covers:
- merchandising
- visual upkeep
- staff support
- display fixtures
- product placement strategy
