Belleville Perks Merchant Required Participation Information

Belleville Perks Merchant Required Participation Information

Effective Date: November 1, 2025

Overview

Starting November 1, 2025, participation in the Belleville PERKS loyalty program is required for all active Belleville Market merchants.

As we approach our third holiday season, our focus is on enhancing customer engagement and retention, which are proven drivers of long-term sales growth. While this may initially seem like an additional responsibility, PERKS is designed to benefit both merchants and shoppers by creating a seamless, rewarding shopping experience that encourages repeat visits, higher engagement, and stronger overall market performance.

By participating, you help build a loyal customer base, increase sales, and contribute to a vibrant, thriving market community.

Why PERKS Matters for Your Business

Since its launch in March 2025, the PERKS program has demonstrated a measurable impact on loyalty and revenue:

  • Redeeming members spend 2.7x more than non-members.

  • Redeeming members spend 1.2x more per order than non-members.

  • Redeeming members return 5.6x more often than non-members.

  • Loyalty revenue accounts for 4% of total revenue since launch.

Key Takeaway: PERKS members shop more, spend more, and return more often.

Rewards in Action

From March–September 2025, PERKS members have redeemed 139 rewards, with most customers either redeeming immediately at the 5% reward level or saving up for a gift card.

Reward Redemption Breakdown:

Reward TypeNumber of Redemptions
5% Off101
$5 Gift Card5
10% Off7
$10 Gift Card14
15% Off10
$15 Gift Card2

Important: When a customer redeems points for a gift card reward, Belleville Market absorbs the cost, and you receive the full sale value. Merchants do not carry the cost burden for gift card rewards.

Addressing Merchant Concerns About Discounts

We understand that offering discounts can raise questions. Data shows:

  • Discount rewards account for only 2% of total sales (past 90 days).

  • The average discount redeemed is just 5%, small in the short term but beneficial in the long term through repeat visits and larger baskets.

  • Discounts cannot be stacked—if a customer is using a PERKS reward, it cannot combine with any other merchant sale or promotion.

Merchant/Employee Discounts

  • Employees/merchants cannot receive both PERKS and Merchant/Employee discounts.

  • The system prevents stacking under any circumstances.

Exclusions Policy

Some products may have manufacturer restrictions or promotional limitations. In such cases:

  • Merchants may request exclusions for a limited number of items.

  • Excluded items are managed via a second ConsignCloud account.

  • A separate email address is required to access this account.

  • Signage must clearly identify excluded products in your selling area so customers are informed before checkout.

Questions or Support

If you have questions or concerns, please contact the Belleville Market team directly. We want every merchant to feel confident and prepared to participate in this important program.
