As Belleville Market continues to grow our online business, we are refining how merchant products are offered through BellevilleMarket.com to ensure a more sustainable and consistent model moving forward.
Effective May 1, 2026
Merchant inventory currently listed online through ConsignCloud assortments will be removed from the website.
This change applies to online sales only.
Your in-store presence at Belleville Market will remain unchanged.
Why This Change Is Being Made
Shipping costs for online orders have become increasingly inconsistent.
In many cases, the cost of shipping exceeds what is collected from the customer. While this can be absorbed within Belleville-owned (wholesale) inventory, there is not enough margin within the standard merchant commission structure to support these losses long-term.
This update ensures that our online operations remain sustainable as we continue to grow.
Shopify Collective (Standard Going Forward)
Shopify Collective is the primary method for offering merchant products on BellevilleMarket.com.
Through Shopify Collective, Belleville Market curates and merchandises select items from participating merchants as part of our extended online assortment.
How It Works
- Products are listed on BellevilleMarket.com as part of the Belleville assortment
- Orders are placed by Belleville customers through our website
- Orders are fulfilled and shipped directly by the merchant
- Shipping costs and logistics are managed by the merchant
- Belleville receives a wholesale margin through the Shopify Collective structure
Merchant Requirements
To participate in Shopify Collective, merchants must:
- Operate on Shopify and offer your items via Shopify Collective
- Be approved by Belleville for Collective participation
- Maintain accurate product data (images, descriptions, pricing)
- Fulfill orders in a timely and reliable manner
- Provide tracking and customer-ready packaging
Fulfillment & Shipping
- All Collective orders are fulfilled directly by the merchant
- Store pickup is not available for Collective items
- Merchants are responsible for shipping speed and service quality
Pricing & Margin
- Collective pricing should match your standard everyday retail pricing offered at Belleville Market (excluding temporary promotional pricing)
- Margin extended to Belleville should align with your typical Shopify Collective partnerships
Product Selection & Curation
Belleville Market reserves the right to:
- Select which products are listed online
- Merchandise web products within our site experience
- Adjust assortment based on performance and fit
Participation in Shopify Collective does not guarantee that all products will be listed.
Relationship to Merchant Agreement
Shopify Collective participation is separate from your Belleville Market merchant agreement.
It operates independently and is governed by Shopify’s terms, including:
- order management
- fulfillment responsibilities
- pricing and margin structure
Transition Note
Merchant inventory previously listed through ConsignCloud is no longer supported for online sale.
Moving forward, Shopify Collective is the standard method for offering merchant products online for Anchor and Showcase Merchants.
Looking Ahead
Belleville will continue to expand its online assortment through curated Collective partnerships.
Our goal is to build a sustainable, well-merchandised online experience that reflects the same standards as our in-store environment.
